God is an expression of the culture and its needs. in a simple way, yes, the man created the concept of god and gave him/her a name. the differents cultures have differents gods, and for example, the christianity, differents countries belive in christianity in differents ways, and they addapt the bible to their needs. i'm not sayng that god doesnt exists, the way of adore him depend of the culture and society, not in god.

Let's put it objectively:

There is no evidence of any kind that "god" created man, the earth, the universe, or anything else -- or that "god" as defined by any religion exists at all.

There is considerable evidence that all "gods" believed in throughout history by humans have all been inventions of the human imagination, used mostly to control "the masses" by political leaders, to gain political and military power, and to attempt to give some kind of meaning to life and instill a hope that "being good" will get you some kind of afterlife in paradise. Doesn't matter which religion you choose, all "gods" have similar attributes and reasons for being made up by men.

You decide which is more likely: that thousands of different gods worshipped by ignorant humans over thousands of years (most of which have lost all of their followers, though some lasted much longer than the current fad in the "christian god") all really existed, or that humans have made them all up for various reasons mentioned above. What evidence is there that any of them are real "gods"? None.

That's the classic Catch 22, now isn't it?

I believe, however rightly or wrongly, that the moment we recognize the divine within ourselves, we wonder where it came from. We then look outward to find its source. Enter organized religion, attempting to give us the "ultimate" answers. Instead...

If we turned our focus back inward, we would connect to creation and begin to realize that we are creators ourselves. From there, we can begin to "create" a relationship with the divine. Whatever you choose the divine to be. Therefore it can be said, that we, having created this relationship, have then created god. But I also feel that the reverse is also true. Not knowing the source of that divine creative spark within us, what is its source? With whom are we creating this co-creator relationship? Is it simply a form of multiple personality? Or is it, in fact, something greater?

And there you have it. The irony. The ultimate Catch 22!

No God created man. He didn't need to, because he has the trinity(Father,Son, and Holy spirit.)that is why we say God doesn't need us, but we need him. God created man for his pleasure(Prasing,Worshiping, fellowshiping, and to fruitful, and multiply),besides he has the Angelic host as well.I could see your point, because if their are no beings, than how could God get the response as in to call him God? I think the beginning of my answer apply's..

Mankind has created many "gods" but, no, mankind didn't create our Creator God.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
