She's your mom, she is trying to keep you from hurting yourself (or royally messing up your hair), live with it.

When you are a mom, you can let, or not let, your daughter do whatever you feel is best for her. It is the parent's curse.

Your Mom is probably just worried about you ruining your hair or doing something crazy with it. I would ask her if you can start with getting some highlights, ask her to help you put them in. You can buy a highlighting kit almost anywhere for under $20. Show her that you can be level headed and she may let you do whatever you want (within reason) next time around.

ask her to use a semi permenant dye and then shell be like "okay" and then use a real dye and then be like "oops, i must have mixed it up"

haha, or you can just use the semi permenant, make her happy and wait till she actually lets you use the real dye
