I have a PC which runs XP . It was working fine until the other day when I came home from work. I booted the PC and it went into the safe mode screen. I hit every option on the screen, it starts to load, then it goes right back into safe mode. No matter how many times I do it, it goes back to safe mode. How can I fix this?

Go to Start > Run > Type MSCONFIG click on Ok.
In General tab choose "Normal Startup"
In Boot.ini tab make sure "/Safe boot" is unselected.
Click Apply and retry reboot.
if issue persist

Keep Tapping F8 and choose to Last good known configuration.

Else try to use restore option from the Start > Accessories > System Tools > System restore menu.

Or go to Start > Run > Type "%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" and click on Ok.

Click Start > Run
In Run dialog box, type the following text:
msconfig
Click OK
In the System Configuration Utility, on the BOOT.INI tab,
uncheck /SAFEBOOT.
Click OK
Close all programs and restart the computer.

Thiwould restart your computer in Normal Mode.

If you have your XP cd handy or restore cd - put it in your cd drive and boot up your pc. Try to run a repair off your restore cd or if you have just the original xp cd - follow the instructions as if you were installing your files. After you click F8 - instead of installing and formatting - click R for repair. That will re-install only your Windows files and not overwrite your settings.
