Do what you like. Some people keep their decorations up year round, especially outside lights, that way they can light up the house for other holidays as well. Some people just love the Christmas ideal so much they like celebrating it all year. In the San Francisco Bay Area, they have a program called "Christmas In July". The sponsers & volunteers in this group go around to Families in need & repair those people's homes. Now THAT is truely the "spirit of the season" !!!!

Here in Western Massachusetts they start decorating the exterior the day after Thanksgiving and much of it stays up till Valentines Day. The interior follows as early as December 1st.

Right now. Everybody is thinking early December but if you have more time decorating, you might found out that there are extra decorating stuff that you wanna put up at your house. The extra time is an added advantage.

It starts earlier and earlier every year like the Christmas sales. Some of my neighbours have had them up for 2 weeks now. If you start now you will have more spare time to get it done rather than a last minute mad rush. It will also make you happy and jolly so the sooner the better.

I think that you should start decorating whenever you feel ready. I think that maybe the second week of December would be good.
