No... The reproductive organs are removed during spaying. But, just like human women the Virgina needs to clean itself by a process of discharge. It could be a slight infection that has created a stronger than usual odor. A call to the vet can help you.

I am actually going to the vet today to talk about this. My youngest pin has lumps under her last two nipples that are rather large and squishy. This doesn't look normal, so we are taking a trip to check it out. She was spayed after her first heat for medical reasons, and had a false pregnancy right after heat, so she didn't get done until she was a year old. I am terrified. I will let you know what my vet says! Edit: Back from the vet and my girl is in the clear. Apparently it is fatty deposits, which wouldn't have happened if she had been spayed before she had the false pregnancy. My vet did tell me that the chances for cancer go up with every heat cycle.

Not to my knowledge. Once a dog is spayed she cannot come into heat again. If you are smelling a fishy odor, it may be from her anal glands. Dogs have two glands located on both sides of the anus. They are sacs that are filled with fluid and aid in bowl movements. Sometimes the fluid is just released, and it does have a foul odor. But it doesn't last for a prolonged period of time.

When your dog is spayed they take all the reproductive organs out. Therefore your dog does not produce any hormones that would allow her to exhibit a heat cycle. If your dog has a strange smell and or discharge she may have a slight infection. Call and ask your vet, or take your pet in for a check up. Good luck!

NO! Once they are fixed, there are no female organs to go 'in-heat' anymore. You might ask your vet about the smell but there is no way that your dog is going in heat - she has had a hysterectomy.

If your dog has a fishy smell, chances are a bath alone won't help. She needs to have the anal glands cleaned.

No, dogs don't go through heat after they're fixed.

Do she seem to lick her anal area or scoot around on her butt? If so she probobly needs her anal glands cleaned out by the vet. If not she could have a yeast infection.

Nope, If the dog has been spayed and spayed correctly she shouldn't be going into heat.
