Depends on the age group:
One cute one is candy-cane reindeer.
Wrap a brown pipecleaner around the candy-cane for antlers, and glue on fun eyes. Add a small red pom-pom for nose. Hard to describe, but look here.... http://www.kellyskindergarten.com/Christmas/images/CCreindeer.jpeg

Hi, we have had a lot of success picking pine cones in the woods and using them as the main attraction in simple round table decorations with a single red candle in the centre. A bit of glod spray paint and tinsel, very nice! Any extras you can make simple wreaths by adding a bit of holly and/or ivy.
Happy Christmas, Steve.
