Most LDS (This stands for Latter Day Saint, That's what they like to call themselves) won't tell you what the Church believes because it is so bizarre. These strange beliefs are the reason mainline Christians Churches say that Mormonism is a non-christian cult. In the next paragraph I will tell you what they believe and add what the Bible teaches on the subject where appropriate.
Mormons teach that our god is a glorified man. A being of flesh and bone. The Bible makes it very clear that God is spirit. The Mormon god stated out in the great expanse of uncreated space. There in the darkness of a pre-spiritual existence, god the father, Jesus, you, and I will there all equal and co-eternal. Then a god had sexual intercourse with one of his wives and our god was given a spiritual body. He happened to be the first born of this god so he became the savior of this god's world just like Jesus is for our world. He lived, and taught Mormonism to those who would listen to mine. He died just like Jesus did here and if others on that world would repent and be baptized by the Mormon priest there and live to the end of their lives in righteousness they were allow to return to their god. If they didn't measure up they were assigned to other kingdoms that that god has created for them. Kingdoms overseen by their savior (who became our god) and another valiant spirit that was given the office of holy ghost. (What do you think, is this getting complex?) After the end of the world that our god did his mortal ministry on, he was given many worthy females at he could have sex with and thereby create spirit children (us) to send to a world that he created. Oh, by the way these worlds weren't really created they were organized out of the matter available in space (matter is co-eternal with god and can't be created or destroyed). Jesus was the first born of our god and Lucifer the second born (who became the devil). Can you believe this Mormons don't just say that Jesus is our spiritual brother but also he and we are brothers of Satan. Lucifer wanted to force us all to be good and bring us all back to god Jesus wanted to give us freedom to make our own decision. Jesus won this battle and became god the son. Well Mormons believe this process is repeated again and again. It is their goal to live a perfect life through their first principles of their gospel they are:
1. Faith in the Mormon Jesus
2. Baptism by immersion (Done only by their priests)
3. Laying on of hands for the gift of the Mormon Holy Ghost ( Done only by their elders)
4. Repentance ( You have to repent of every sin you commit, You better have a good memory)
5. Enduring to the end of your life in righteousness. Go to step 4 each time to you sin.
Along with this there is marriage in the Mormon temple (You can't become a god without being married). Everyone is also asked to pay a full tithe (Ok they got one thing right) and do volunteer service for the church (They have no paid ministry. That isn't bad either but someone should tell them that pastoring a local christian church is a full time and a half job and it doesn't pay well at all. Men and women that do it are called of God No one would go into that kind of work on their own.. This is only the begining. They will believe that your Priest is a servant of the devil paid to keep you away from their church.. Since they preach a differnt Gosple that we have recieve before and another jesus that we hadn't known before the Bible say that they should be accursed.. DON'T LET THEM COME INTO YOUR HOME..

In the town where I live, Mormons make up a significant portion of the population (if not the majority). You basically have to like them, put up with them, or you're screwed. The fact that I went to 5th-8th grade with them (and made a few Mormon friends during that time) and am going through High School with and such is enough to tell me that they're generally okay people. Assuming that the people coming to your house are missionaries, if they were one of my friends (or even if they weren't), I'd say , "Come on in." I'll probably get some groans from some of the rest of the people, but think about it: does it hurt to spend a minute of your time listening to someone try to spread their beliefs to you and maybe the rest of your family? You may not agree with everything they say, but try to remember that they could be doing something else besides missionary activities. They chose this (hopefully) because they wanted to spread the word of God as they see it. Yes, I'm biased due to the fact that I'm living in a small town with a lot of Mormons, but that's just how I see it.

ask them why they believe the book of Mormon is more correct them the Bible.

they teach that black people can't go to heaven. because when God has sex with women a bad spirit baby will fly down to earth and be born black. a good spirit baby will fly down to earth and become white. this is why in Josephs Smiths time, some white women would have black babies (it had nothing to do with who they were having sex with, example the slaves). it has nothing to do with genetics. they also believe in many gods and you can become one if you are really good. they used to teach that blacks can't go to heaven until the government threated to take away their no-tax benefit for teaching hate liturature and then they changed their minds and now decide that black people can go to heaven but not the highest level of heaven. but they are allowed the privilage to serve white people. after all they have an evil spirit baby in them, that's what makes their skin black.

this is what i think of religions that have levels and the ones at the top are somehow better.

The doctrine of the Nicolaitans was mentioned in the Apocalypse of John Revelation chapter 2. It is a symbolic name of a group of people that represents the hierarchy of a ruling class over the rest of the people, developing a pecking order of fleshly leadership. Jesus hates this and warns the people to repent. It is not the question of the ministries but rather in the separation of them into a hierarchy over the people. This very idea was taken over by the Protestants with their own corruption of leadership roles and coverings. The Church of Ephesus was commended for hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans. The wrong separation of the clergy from the laity is a great evil in God's sight and He hates the lust for religious power over others. There is an ungodly spiritual authority in the Church today, which is nothing more than the prideful spirit of control, manipulation, domination and intimidation and a rebellion of the rightful authority of God

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Please don't believe everything you hear about Mormons. A lot of the things that people mentioned above Mormons simply don't teach. The missionaries will tell you what we believe, read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, God will let you know the truth.

They are seemingly nice people who are not open to other religions since theirs is the "true church". I seems more like a business to me, because they are "encouraged" to pay 10% of all wages, but usually must to be considered worthy. Many go on missions to gain more members and it goes on like this. I think they are believing a lie.

They have a hilarious story about their scripture. South Park does an excellent parody.

for a young religion, why are there no original gold tablets that supposedly contined the gospel. Whould you let scientologists into your hoise to preach?

Mormons are just like other "Chrisian" religions that believe some of the Bible, but not all.

They're fascinating, but I wouldn't be one. I couldn't belong to any religion that said my husband had the power to decide whether I go to heaven or not.
