Its husband (enlisted member) one child, and me. He has a daughter from a previous relationship that we will have visitation with when we move so I am not sure if they would count her. She is counted as a dependat though. So, he has 3 dependants.

Check the housing waiting lists. Not knowing your rank or family size, I don't know what you'd get.

I absolutely LOVED that area. Lots for kids to do. The real estate market there is unsettled, but by that time it should be firm again. Personally, I prefer living in Virginia Beach to Norfolk. I think the neighborhoods and schools were a bit better. Email me if you want the info on a super good realtor.

The waiting list is approx. 18-24 months for housing. Depending on your husbands rank will aid in determining what you qualify for as well as the number of dependents (an E-7 or above automatically qualifies for a three bedroom). Unless your husband has physical custody of the child from the previous relationship she will not be counted for when the housing office determines what you qualify for in terms of number of bedrooms. Besides what base you and your husband are stationed at do some research into the different housing communities. From my experience the yard sizes are not that big and there are up to four houses in one building per se, with very thin walls. I just moved out of housing two months ago. Something else to consider the housing market in the Norfolk area is a buyers market. I just moved out of housing two months ago into a house. If you have any other questions e mail me.

i'm no longer militia yet i'm station 20 minutes from Norfolk. some human beings could desire to assert that via way of certainty the backside isn't surrounded via way of the appropriate of neighborhoods yet i would not say the extra extreme. i think of of it somewhat is surely pleasnt around good right here there is many times something to do on the weekends the sea coast is desirable down the line DC is a few hours away. yet back I say i'm no longer militia so what happens on the backside I surely have no clue.

Check to see which base you are on. There are several Navy bases in and around Norfolk.
