Then tell her. Tell her you care for her, but maybe you should start out as just friends. When you hear guys talking rubbish about her, tell them to stop it. If you really care for her, then you won't be afraid to stand up for her.

if you like a girl, and you're too sure about it -- THEN GET YOUR FEAR OFF AND SHOW YOUR FREAKING GUTS -- just a proposal is not going to change this whole world.
and i tell you one more thing... if those boys are talking rubbish about her.. then just tell them not to do so. else, go to the girl and tell her what those boys are talking..
ELSE, just propose her.. and if she agrees -- just bash those boys no matter what - - (she's your gf, so you can bash them with a prolific sensation) :D :P

Try to talk to her, if you are too shy, try to make an accident on "purpose", then say sorry and you know what to do. If you don't want other boys to talk bad things about her, insult them back.
