My mother was adopted from Germany in 1950 by a South African couple. All she has left is her original birth certificate and her mother's name. How do we go about tracking down her biological mother and siblings?

You have to talk with the orphanage that your mother was adopted from, cause they have the records... but there's a problem, even if her parents are dead, the privacy law in Europe still applies, and it's hard to get that info. I'm from Europe and I know it, but u can still go to a court and present your reasons, why do u want to find out about your mother's parents and maybe they'll make an exception at the privacy law.

you should ask around the community of the region and the different components of the kinfolk yet word of mouth isn't stable or consistent. Others from that element era might have extremely kicked the bucket. different recommendations could be to locate a great e book of historical past and if everyone substitute into to be attentive to they could write it down there. that could additionally be the main stable suggestion.
