Please do note many mythological heroes were the offspring of godly powers as well.

It beats me. Really, if no one told you that one was "the truth" and the other was "a myth" how could you tell the difference?

Jonah swallowed by a "big fish" (and survives)
Pinocchio swallowed by a whale (and survives)

YHVH creates humans from dirt/dust
Nu Gua creates humans from the mud of the Yellow River

A virgin (Miriam) is told by an angel that she will bear the son of YHVH by a spirit
A virgin (Mut-em-ua, the virgin Queen of Egypt) is told by Taht that she will bear the Son of the God Kneph

Jesus as a dying and reborn god/king
Enlil as a dying and reborn god/king

And it goes on and one and one.

AND, since every people have a creation story that puts them in a special relationship with a God/Goddess who creates them, and casts other people as inferior, why on Earth would *I* choose to accept as my religion one that makes me a second-class citizen on two counts (ethnicity and gender)?

By referring to the God's of ancient Greece and the religion of there worship as 'mythology' you are lending credence to the 'hot air' theorists, mythology is based on the word MYTH meaning something that is not real. People still do worship these Gods and Gods other than the one put forward by Christian's, the people that do are classified as PAGANS - that other Gods exist is written into the ten commandments, the second commandment states Thou shalt have no other God besides (before) me. It does not say that there are no other Gods but basically tells you that you are not to worship other Gods, so it could be argued that this confirms the existence of other Gods. So on this basis there is a positive argument that the Greek Gods did and do exist and that there if you wish to worship them then it is also possible that when you die that your soul will travel to there version of the afterlife.

No thanks, I don't earn enough to interest the Alpha people and I'm not in a high-flying job... (show me a poor person on the dole who's done Alpha at Holy Trinity Church. still, high-earning professionals with lots of disposable income are good for the collection plate, aren't they, once you've convinced them their lives need a spiritual dimension)

So what about Mithras, who was also the son of Jupiter-God born unto a virgin, who also preached redemption, who also died young and was born again on the third day: the Roman cult of Sol Invictus, which was a serious contender with Christianity for state religion?

How much did Christianity import from, or share with, Mithridiasm?

Interesting to wonder how the Western world might have changed if Mithra had won the religious struggle to dominate the Roman Empire......

Because Greek mythology are bedtime stories made famous by Homer. The bible is 66 books created by historians. The true christian movement has inspired so much culture, architecture, hope, faith, peace, etc. There must be somthing in it. Jesus also split BC and AD. There must be somthing special about him. The rest is up to your faith not rationalism

Pilate was puzzled as well. He asked Jesus where he came from. The Romans believed that the gods could take human form on earth. Why do we limit God, when he is omnipotent?

Christians regard any other belief as hot air. 'Back in the day' the catholic church did everything they could to stifle all other beliefs, even murdering people if they didn't agree with the church. Also, although certain people don't like to entertain such a FACT, nearly all christian holidays are actually Pagan holidays that were adopted by the catholic church and 'turned into' their own.

Every single religion in the entire world is a myth used to express how man wants other men to behave at that particular time and place in the world.

Almost answered in you question - Greek Gods were mythical and therefore by definition are/were not real.
My God however is real - he made the world and you/me and in order to save us from our sinfullness sent to earth is only Son, Jesus.
Jesus promises, through his Father and the Holy Spirit, eternal life to all who believe in him and adopt a life style of loving their neighbour as much as themselves.
Pop into any christian Church to find out more or better still enlist in an Alpha course - you can see them advertised everywhere.

It doesn't make any sense to me!
It seems as though religion is just modern mythology.
