Lots of questions, with little information makes it difficult.
Here are some places to look for Polly. As far as them having kids, that is possible. Maybe you could try GENFORUM where you can post by the SURNAME Sullivan and Thompson, and you could give locations that you know. What country; State, Province; city, Town, anything you know. Dates would help too. Try these sites to see if you can find them yourself.

Those are VERY common names and there are too many to sort through without any other details. How old are these women? Where are they from? Are these their married names? What makes them unique and stand out from all the other's with the same name?
You just did not give any other clues for us to help you.

Try Classmates.com if you went to school with them you can also see if your Alma mater has a alumni club at the school website it is a good way to reconnect with old friends.

Polly was alive until last week, when we went crocodile hunting together. The boat tipped and she got eaten. She used to dance on a table with a rose between her teeth while we threw coins into a mug from across the room. We're all going to miss her here at the "Happy Kangaroo" beer and social hall.
