Change his food to something non-allergic like the Fish and Chips from http://www.frrco.com/121668 This will help with his skin and coat.

Do not bathe him to often, or he will have dry skin and produce more oil.

After bathing him, rinse him with a water/white vinegar solution and rinse thouroughly.

Between baths, brush him. You can also buy in between bath wipes and doggie colognes...

I hope this helps!

At the very least the dog must have skin problems. No dog should be bathed weekly. I actually had to stop taking my Peke to the nursing home for visits because bathing her so frequently caused a severe skin irritation. I would see another vet.

We had a case like this recently at the student hospital I work at. While it's true he may need antibiotics, it could also be some sort of allergy. Ask your vet to take a skin sample and blood test to see if there's anything irritating the dog or if he has any sort of allergies. If that doesn't work then I really don't know what you can do.

we had that problem, no matter how much we bathed him he still felt oily and smelly. the vet gave us a dip, color was bright orange and smelled like sulfur. you bath them in it but do not rinse. this we did once a week for 4 weeks and the smell finally went away. if your dog is inside, you need to let him dry outside for a few hours, as the orange will rub off when its wet.

I agree...Sounds like diet to me...We have a lot of dog's up here, as I do...Change the formula.....Look for less fat in the ingredients...I saw something similar to this and it was too much fat and that particular husky had a fat intolerance and could not digest it properly...Toxin's are another suspect to me...How is the stool...take a sample with you when you visit the vet this time...if you already havn't....But...for sure, change the diet....Yuke

Stop bathing him every week for starters as for the vet they just want you to keep going back so they can have your money.
stop bathing it is far too much and will not help because his body is producing oils where bathing takes them away.

Your problem lies in his food.what do you feed him,
Meat and biscuits or just meat or just biscuits ?? Let us know
