Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism. There were people or groups of people who did not agree with the doctrines or teachings of the church and they in turn founded different sects of christianity over the years. These founders are opinionated and biased with their own beliefs of how religion should be and not what it really is. These founders make the rules of the religion, much like a new boss at a job.

For example, Charles Taze Russell, founded the Jehovah's Witnesses in the late 1870's. He was raised as a protestant, but as a teenager decided that he didn't agree with the doctrines of that church. Shortly after that, he formed the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Suit follows for ALL others religions as well. Sects were formed according to opinion and not facts about religious teachings.

The question is this: how can anyone say that their religion is the true path to salvation with no questions asked, when all of them are based on founders with their own agendas.

what you are talking about is this;

The doctrine of the Nicolaitans was mentioned in the Apocalypse of John Revelation chapter 2. It is a symbolic name of a group of people that represents the hierarchy of a ruling class over the rest of the people, developing a pecking order of fleshly leadership. Jesus hates this and warns the people to repent. It is not the question of the ministries but rather in the separation of them into a hierarchy over the people. This very idea was taken over by the Protestants with their own corruption of leadership roles and coverings. The Church of Ephesus was commended for hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans. The wrong separation of the clergy from the laity is a great evil in God's sight and He hates the lust for religious power over others. There is an ungodly spiritual authority in the Church today, which is nothing more than the prideful spirit of control, manipulation, domination and intimidation and a rebellion of the rightful authority of God.

next there should be no sects. we should all be united in truth and not make up our own views and then use religion to justify it. i read the Bible and pray to my God and don't usually go to church for the reasons that you stated. but i do love God and his word.

While some 'religions' were formed this way, suit does not follow for ALL religions. yes, Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism, but that is stated in the christian bible. Jesus Christ was Jewish, and the christian religion believes that Jesus existed as messiah. Christianity cannot be considered as "based on founders with their own agendas" because many people wrote the christian bible. i can't defend Jehovah's witnesses or other religions but Christianity is what i believe, and it is proven true.

I think all of these 'founders' believed that theirs was the true path and, in a sense, they were in effect the actual true founder while everyone else had made some sort of error in judgement that led them down the wrong path. While some of these people might have had their own "agenda", and were not authentically trying to find the truth, I'm sure others were true believers. The problem is whether or not they were actually correct about thier beliefs.

First of all, you err in stating that Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism. Christianity, according to Jesus Christ, ENDED Judaism or the Law of Moses, and began a higher law. Those who wished to remain Jews went their way, and the Christians went another.

I agree with you that religions are founded by men and are based on their own opinions and interpretations of the scriptures, or in many cases, based on greed and the search for fame and attention and power. However, there is ONE religion - the original one started by Jesus Christ - which actually teaches truth and has the Priesthood, which is the power and authority of God upon the earth. Christ said His church would fall into apostacy and be restored in the latter days. Christ's church will be led by prophets and apostles, will have temples, will pay tithing, will believe in continued revelation from God, will believe Christ is truly God's Son, will believe in degrees of heaven and glory hereafter, will believe that faith without works is dead, will believe in baptism by immersion, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and so forth.

There is only ONE church present on earth today that I know of, that follows this foundation, and states it was RESTORED and not started by man, nor supposedly "continued" from Christ's day after His church actually fell into apostacy and disappeared. If these claims are true, then The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints merits some investigation by those seeking Christ's church.

It seems you have an agenda of your own. Religions are founded upon conviction, not whim. The problem is that today most people don't possess this trait. You have conviction that faith is a matter of opinion, not fact, and you are being just as dictatorial about it as those you detest. Is your assertion a fact or an opinion? If it is a fact we have a paradox because it contradicts the very point you're attempting to make. If it is an opinion, you have no legitimate right to denounce those who believe differently than you.

All religious leaders start their religions and make themselves god's representative on Earth. With the Judeo-Christian god it does back to Moses.

If you want to see an honest religious leader, it will the be the person who places someone else as God's representative.

I'd probably say I would have trusted the word of John the Baptist before the word of Jesus. That's just me if I was there.

Nope. They're just a bunch of weirdos who have charisma and a single minded, savant like knowledge of scripture.

And people, who so want to believe in God and prophets will follow these nuts for the best and most well intentioned of reasons and wind up losing all of that reason as they segregate themselves from the rest of humanity.

That' not what spirituality should be about. It should be about unity, love, kindness and peace. Most of all peace. Without peace there can be no God.

God is only God. Founders may be of the spirit but they are not God. We all start out as the seed of God. In other words we are an offspring from God. We remain with him and a part of him if we choose to plant the seed of Christ in good soil, fertilize it with Christianity and protect it from the disease of sin.

the path to God has to originate with God-Moses who it the only author to describe creation with Adam and eve-and their sin and the blood required to clothe them in fur after sin and Gods blood atonement Leviticus 17vs 11 and finally in Jesus fulfilled who comes into our heart and becomes our best friend. all other religions are man made leading to other places-"I am the way the truth and the life no one cometh to heaven but by me.'John 14vs 6
