For those that sympathize with illegal immigrants.....?

who say that they only come here to work and support a family, deserving of rights, why is it that they can't do it the legal way (you know, stand in long INS lines and pay thousands of dollars toward the process)? Before you say they can;t afford it, take a look at this example:

Many would agree that there are some US citizens that are struggling to make ends meet every day, living from paycheck to paycheck with familes to support. Most of these Americans have cars, and in some states, are required to have car insurance as mandated by law. Since they are living from paycheck to paycheck, however, some can't afford to buy the required insurance (the decision they are faced with is usually pay the the insurance or pay the rent). Now if they are pulled over by a police officer, ticketed, appear in court, and tell the judge that they did not insurance because they could not afford it but they needed to drive the car so that they could keep their job, the judge will politely say that

it is the LAW to have such insurance and you should have not been driving the car in the first place if you could not afford the insurance no matter if you are a hard working person trying to make ends meet. Why can't illegal immigrants see that if you are willing to work and live in this country, there are laws you need to abide by and certain things you need to do in order to become a legal citizen, and by not abiding by these laws makes you a criminal?

As heartless as this sounds, I'm sorry, but laws are there for a reason. Poverty and starvation is a worldwide problem, and there are people here in the US that are starving right now trying to make ends meet. I actually feel bad for the Mexicans because in all of this turmoil, they are being exploited by US employers and their mother country. The law is law. Many people are on the brink of death with starvation, but would it be right for them to hold up a grocery store for food. Of course we would sympathize with the due to their motive, but it is still wrong!

Therefore, in a nutshell, even if they are starving and trying to work, it still is not fair to the people that paid thousands of dollars to get over here LEGALLY.

its true that this country was built with blood, sweat and tears but at the expense of the hard working people for little or no pay and they still lived i less than steller conditions. this country was stolen from the first settlers here by manipulation and war so how come you can say that this country is rightfully ours when its not? all of our ancestors came from a different place, lets not forget that.

but on another note ,one reason that alot of americans are struggling between paychecks is because some of them are living way beyond their means by buying things they dont need and spending money on friviolous things. try buying a nice, affordable sedan instead of that lincoln navigator or cadillac escalade or some expensive bmw or lexus then you would have enough money left over for insurance.

I couldn't agree more. American citizens are NOT afforded equal protection under the law. There seems to be two different sets of rules. Our perverted judges will crucify an American citizen while they reward illegal aliens. Look at the two Border Patrol agents, Ramos and Compean. Nailed to the cross for having the audacity to actually do their jobs while an illegal alien drug smuggler is granted immunity from prosecution TWICE and is now being allowed to sue the Border Patrol for 5 million. What do you think would happen if a city stood up and publicly declared that they were not going to adhere to the Civil Rights Act of 1964? I feel sorry for those that feel that they must vacate their country to get a better life. But not sorry enough to pay for them to do it. They need to get in line like we all have to do.

Do you know that if you go to the bank, & your ID expired yesterday, the ID is not valid, & they dont have to give you your money? forgetting to put in your papers does not give you an automatic freeby. I have no problem with those that are here legally. I have much of my family here that are from another country. All of them came here legally. It can be done.

My wife works at a college. Her dpt. is advising. The main population of this campus are foriegn. Many of which are illegal. & guess what? they are getting your tax dollars in free education. They can come here, tell them that they dont have any papers to be here & because of that, they are entitled to a free ride! the advisors are told to ignore their status. If that is not abuse of the system I dont know what is!

The illegals do come here trying to escape the poverty and corruption of their countries. And for this, I really can't blame them. But at the same time, we can't let other contries problems become ours. They need to make their country great with blood, sweat, and tears like America did if they want a piece of the pie. I blame the US govt though, not the illegals. Our govt doesn't take this issue seriously. If they did, employers would be so afraid of fines and jail time for hiring ilegals, that it just wouldn't happen.
