I can tell you that traditional Yule gifts are all about warmth, light and entertainment during the long cold, dark winter months. Traditional Yule gifts include an article of warm clothing (lest the Yule Cat devour you), candles and boardgames (or decks of cards). When you remember that Yule started in the colder nordic latitudes, these things make a lot of sense.
Peace!

Yule is still far enough away that you have time to do some good cross-stitch work. That would also be easy and inexpensive to mail. As to designs, many of the ostensibly Christmas designs are actually appropriate for Yule. And Greek gods and goddesses are pretty common representations in art. Depending on how much detail you want to a picture, and how much time you can afford to spend on it, you can even get designs which reproduce classical works of art.

If you go with your box idea, you could decorate it by writing the names of the Olympian gods with a paint pen or permanent marker (they make metallic gold and silver ones that would be good for this) using the Greek letters. :) Most websites on the Greek gods will give the Greek writing for their names. And by the way, one does not have to be Greek by nationality to worship the gods of ancient Greece. For one thing, the majority of the Greeks have long since submitted to the religion of their conquerers. For another, the ancient Greeks can take credit for the beginnings of most of Western civilization so we're all heirs to their wisdom. Lastly I do not believe that gods are limited by such petty human distinctions as nationality; they all worshiped worldwide by many races & nationalities.

My family is primarily Christian as such they get Christmas presents. For those in my circle of friends who are Pagan, they get various things, some bought, some made, some for use as pagans, some just because they look nice.

I like to give people useful stuff. For the kids - toys, of course. Educational toys if I can. For everyone else - gift cards and/or things they need.

My family is predominantly Christian, and we all put together lists every year, so basically I shop off of those.
For my pagan friends, I look for something special that speaks to me as being "For them".
