Chances are you don't have any unpartitioned space, most people don't. Programs like Partition magic can work, but make sure you backup first. I personally don't recommend such programs.

I think you can create partitions when you re-install windows xp. These are semi-permanent (until you format you harddrive) so it doesn't involve any other software
