Myaloo, bless your heart! You know, we all go through this periodically. They are called "dry seasons." These times really test our faith, because we don't feel close to God, or that He has left us.
The antidote is to continue to be faithful, and to surround yourself with other faithful Christians who will encourage you. Don't hang around with those who will drain the spiritual life out of you. You are the one in need now, and it's your turn to receive, instead of give, the encouragement.
Do like Paul says, "Never worry about anything, but in every situation let your petitions be made known to God in prayers and requests, with thanksgiving. Then God's peace, which goes far beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
Know that this period will pass, and you will be close again, because the Lord has said, "I will never leave you or abandon you." (Hebrews 13:5)
I pray the Lord strengthen you while you go through this test of your faith.

Lets start by finding out the cause of your drifting. Have you had a traumatic experience, a huge disappointment or does your life at the present time lack spunk..are you bored..coz there must be a reason! If it is any of the above or any other take solace in the knowledge that He understands!
Turn to him in prayer and seek guidance in the Bible by taking one little step at a time. Do not force it but make an effort to pray.Incidentally we all drift at one time or the other.
Lastly try giving, either by volunteering in a Kitchen Soup programme, or visiting the elderly, or donating some of your stuff to orphanages...just try to give someone a smile, you'll be surprised at the spiritually nourishing effect this will have on your whole being.

Well, in four weeks Jesus will be reborn, as Christmas will again be here. So there must be activities and service you can volunteer for. Everyone at home is well, and you are too? You had a conversation with your pastor(? sorry not Christian, I'm RC.) Spiritual guide.
I would suggest relaxing, as everyone has cycles of their different rhythms. The highs and lows in life come to everyone, at sometime.
Hopefully you remember that Jesus is at your side, like in that famous poem, so your "connection" will strengthen again - I'm sure.
(Thanks for thinking kindly of WSIDR!)

Hi. you don't need to be religious to know God. In fact, without all of the ritual and dogma clouding your path it might be easier for you to have a personal relationship with God.
Religion exerts a powerful psychological authority over us and keeps us from knowing our brothers and sisters who are also deserving of love and kindness. One quick glance at the headlines should be enough to show you how religion is creating problems for us all over the world.
You don't need to join a club to know God. You don't need to have a church to love Jesus. Even Christ himself held his most famous sermon on on a hillside. Not much of an organized church there. Just a guy who loved people and God and wanted to share his knowlege.
You can do that too. You don't need some priest to tell you how beautiful the world is. How to love others. If anything they are holding you back.
Be kind, loving and generous to yourself and others. That's all the religion you need and it's at the heart of all the major religions.
That's what you should do.

I do have social stress. i don't experience mushy in great crowds. i'm no longer a social gathering animal yet I usually desire that i could merely permit bypass and have relaxing. I even have stumbled on by the years that i could have the potential to "connect' human beings to have relaxing. i desire first of all to love then fairly and then to experience mushy around them. i'm usually uncomfortable around a team of strangers. ONe on one I do enormously solid however. I do like to bounce however. i like to 2 step and in the section the place I stay we've 3 or 4 'dances' interior of 50 miles of here the place human beings collect to bounce. they are family individuals oriented, no eating allowed and positively laid decrease back. Connect with creation itself. Take a long walk in a forested area, or some expansive park area, be aware and observe. Life and its creation is the purest form of divine reflection. Doing this should reconnect you to the mystery of life itself. That will aid you in reconnecting yourself to the divine energy that put all of this in motion.

We all go through times of "dry spells" when we don't necessarily feel God's presence the same way all the time. That's why we walk by faith and not by feelings, because feelings can change. What's most important is to maintain your time of fellowship with the Lord even though you don't seem to sense His nearness. He's there, whether the "flesh" is trying to tell us differently. Draw nigh to Him, and He will draw nigh to you. God bless you.

We all go through times like this. God isn't a feeling, God isn't an emotion. God just is.
Your feeling of closeness ebbs and flows, depending on where you are in your walk.
It doesn't mean you are any less faithful.
