what?? He stayed out all night? I take it, the cat is a male? And he is not fixed? The cat has found a female, no doubt, and is spending some time with her.If he dont come back home by tomorrow morning I would start to worry.A cat is pretty good at finding their way home. Some friends of mind did not want to take their 2 cats they had to the pound so they drop them off about a mile and a half away from the house. Guess who was crying at the door the next morning??They changed their minds when they seen those two back home the next day.

Cats have a great sense of smell that's how they find their way back home. They normally won't travel far enough to the point where they are going to get lost! Try putting wet food by your door and also go out into the neighbor hood and call him. They'll reconize your voice and if he's close by he should come running! What I do with my cats is train them with some food in a plastic container and I shake it everytime I am giving them wet food or treats. That way if they are outside when I am going to bed I can just go outside and call them. Only once has my cat not repsonded to that.

There's no doubt cats can find their ways back home even under extreme conditions. Tomcats sometimes follow a female to their homes. They do serenades on rooftops. It's kind of a hormonal matter and he'll be back home where he belongs very soon.

Yes. When my mom was young, they had a cat. My grandma gave the cat to someone else across town. They said about a week later the cat was on their doorstep. It traveled through town (in the snow & cold) and came back to them. They couldn't get rid of her then.

Yes. I had a cat who ran away for 3 months straight! He finally came home and he was ok! Nothing was wrong with him! If my cat could do it, your cat can too!

Get your cat fixed if it isn't already. Unneutered pets will wander and get lost. You can also get your animal a microchip so if it ends up in the truck on the way to Animal Control, they will scan him and see that the cat has a trackable owner.

He will more than likely come home within a day or two. My cats always do (I try to keep them inside but they are Houdini kitties).

They usually do find their way home so don't worry. Is he neutered? As he may have found a girlfriend. Have his favourite dinner ready when he turns up.
