What are Neanderthals to Christians?

There is no doubt that they existed and were fully developed in 130,000 BC. There were traces before neanderthal that fall back even as far as 350,000 BC. If they existed where does Adam and Eve stand in all this? What did they look like? When were they born?

Neanderthals are not contested. They know that they existed and they know that they've been around for over a hundred thousand years ago. Knowing this, you have to somehow fit your beliefs into why they exist. Or do you just take the easy road and say it all a lie?

Not all Christians take the bible literally. Catholics accept evolution. So what are Neanderthals to me? As of the latest news - possibly some ancestors because it is believed that Cromagnons and Neaderthals might have bred together before the Cromagnons completely took over.

We don't deny that there is a skeleton which they call a Neanderthal. What we do dispute is the fact that they are said to have lived in 130,000 BC ot that there were others back to 350,000 BC. Just because some scientist says it, doesn't make it so. They do not KNOW that they existed that far back. They believe that they did, but they cannot know it. How do you fit the Biblical account into your theory, or do you just take the easy road and say it is a lie.

Neanderthal
Around the turn of the century, an anonymous writer in the science journal Nature reported that in the February issue of the Bulletin International of the Academy of Sciences of Cracow, Mr K. Stolyhwo described the discovery of a human skull with classic Neanderthal features. The entire skeleton was in a tomb which also contained iron arrowheads and a suit of chain-mail armour.

This report is no surprise, as Neanderthal bony features have nothing to do with evolutionary 'ape-man' beliefs. They are probably just an example of genetic variation among people, more pronounced in the early post-Flood era. Some evolutionists have pointed out that some Neanderthal bony features are found in a percentage of present-day Europeans.

What is interesting about Neanderthals is that it was believed in the past that they were a different species than man today, but I watch a show on them on the Science Channel. Most of the previous information on them was from archaeologist, well in this show they have scientist train in genetics doing the research, and you know what they found? That the Neanderthals were not a different species, just a different race of man, and able to successfully inter-breed with the rest of the human race, they have found not only fossilized evidence to this fact but because these bones are not as old as dinosaur fossils they were also able to confirm this with DNA evidence as well. The funny thing they also found out was that they were able to trace the spread of the human race around the Earth and determined that human being came from a single source, somewhere down the line we all came from one woman, using DNA evidence, and they were able to find out what races are closely related to each other, for instance those of Greek heritage share common DNA markers with American Indians. I found this show fascinating, because maybe the religious folk have it right, it's just their perception of what really happened and the time frame was way off. Scientist also believe that the human race almost died at one time because of some great catastrophe at one time and a group of people set off to the North to find food, eventually multiplying and moving on settling in different parts of the world until small mutations over time changed the appearance of each group, eventually making the different races that we see today. Although some groups may have stayed in Africa and didn't change that much, others changed because of their new environments and selective breeding.

Conclusion, looks like they are both right, scientist and the religious. Evolutions is probably the true answer to our origins and Genesis is the way that early man's mind perceived this process.

My dear Brother, if they did exist, how do you know for sure they are the ones scientist believed we came from? Lets look back in history as far back as Egypt. People lived in houses. In Babylon people had hanging gardens which has been proven. Dont you know that the devil is the father of lies? If man who evolved from an ape as the claim could make this world very spectacular, do you believe he really came from an ape? Why arent apes evolving today? Man was made a man with all qualities. If these people did exist, they were those who had diseases and had to be cast out from the people. When someone was leprous or had a strange sickness, the bible says they were driven from the people. That is the only explanation to this story. Because they were outcast, they had to live in caves. When you visit a dungeon, what do you see on the walls? drawings and other stuff made in solitude. Do not be fooled. Those old paintings were made by outcasts not Neanderthals.Evolution is a myth a very sad one that does not fully explain how this life came about

No they're not a lie. Recent discoveries have shown that the neanderthals did not pre-date humans, particularly in Europe they have acknowledged that the neanderthals were in no way an ancestor of humans. Furthermore, discoveries of personal belongings buried with neanderthal dead indicates that they were smart people who believed in an afterlife where their possessions and soul would survive them. Now of course scientists are saying that they never thought Neanderthals pre-dated humans, but that certainly isn't what they told me in school.

there are christian scientist who say god caused evolution and that adam and eve existed after the neanderthal and that god caused them to be different than the others some christian scientists say that neanderthal and modern man existed at the same time and they use the bible to prove it by saying thats where cain and ables wives came from that other people were there but just not talked about in detail

Neanderthals are a type of proto human, close to modern humans in form.

There are several types of proto human forms - Homo habilis, homo erectus, cro-magnon man, and the more primitive Australopithecus.

They date from tens of thousands to millions of years old.


Now our species (man) is a sub-species of homo sapians, called homosapian sapian.


Adam would have been created as God infused an immortal soul into the homosapian sapian animal form, at some undetermined time in the past.

It is the immortal soul that gives us a rational intellect and free-will that animals lack.

Biblical literalists do contest Prehistoric creatures of all sorts. The simply choose not to accept the scienctific facts which prove the unreliableness of " God's Word." They are free to do so, of course, but it doesn't give them much credibility, does it?

In my experience they usually deny the dating process because it's performed by scientists. Apparently there's this huge conspiracy where scientists don't actually perform any tests or experiments, they just make up ridiculous claims and keep the research grants for themselves.
