Muslim's kill other religion and call it "jihad", what do they call when they kill their own people ?

We see in news every day of violence in Iraq, Pakistan etc where one group kills the other, called something like shiea and sunni..

Jihad has been classified either as al-jihād al-akbar (the greater jihad), the struggle against one's soul (nafs), or al-jihād al-asghar (the lesser jihad), the external, physical effort, often implying fighting.

Muslim scholars explained there are five kinds of jihad fi sabilillah (struggle in the cause of God):[1]

1. Jihad of the heart/soul (jihad bin nafs/qalb) is an inner struggle of good against evil in the mind, through concepts such as tawhid.

2. Jihad by the tongue (jihad bil lisan) is a struggle of good against evil waged by writing and speech, such as in the form of dawah (proselytizing), Khutbas (sermons), et al. It is one weapon in the jihadi arsenal.

3. Jihad by the pen and knowledge (jihad bil qalam/ilm) is a struggle for good against evil through scholarly study of Islam, ijtihad (legal reasoning), and through sciences (such as medical sciences).

4. Jihad by the hand (jihad bil yad) refers to a struggle of good against evil waged by actions or with one's wealth, such as going on the Hajj pilgrimage (seen as the best jihad for women), taking care of elderly parents, providing funding for jihad, political activity for furthering the cause of Islam, stopping evil by force, espionage, and the penetration of Western universities by salafi Islamic ideology, in numerous Middle East Studies departments funded by Saudi Arabia.

5. Jihad by the sword (jihad bis saif) refers to qital fi sabilillah (armed fighting in the way of God, or holy war), the most common usage by salafi Muslims and offshoots of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Jihad not only means holy war to defend oneself against an organised enemy, it also means war against the devil that hides in our soul.

Today's Muslims misinterpret the meaning of true jihad as was taught by the prophet and the followers of true Islam, and believe in blowing up others with helpless children as suicide bombers as the one and only jihad..

Do you know what is the jihad before just opening your mouth? you think killing who don't believe in Islam but that is wrong jihad is fighting for Allah for example if your country is raped will you leave it no..you will fight to make it free this is one of the jihad branches..learn first then talk...killing their own people called terrorism that what you want to hear and you don't want to understand that they know nothing about religion....

Jihad is when a muslims kills a none-muslims who wanna kill him or take his land off him..
know wht I mean... Prophet said "whomever kills a soul (without saying muslim or not) with no right, then he will not smell even the fragrance of paradise....."

I know what they called it in N. Ireland - Bloody Sunday. Christians call it Catholics and Protestants. Muslims are divided into Shia and Sunni. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

You clearly don't understand the word jihad. Most people incorrectly define it as meaning 'holy war', but you've gone even further and said it has to relate to killing another religion. Jihad means struggle, if you're interested in more than media sensationalism. But you're probably not, right?

Just the same: its Holy War, just like when a Muslim terrorist group kills Christians, Hindus or whoever. In the West we were lucky enough to finish our Holy wars centuries ago.

well u see.allah made this sheir sunni,wabi.for a purpose.its a test to see if we fight over it.basicly they fight over about the way they pray and stuff. u shoudlnt be fighting over sunni and wabi.
