All people need it but some have been trained that it is to be avoided. How? They were somehow punished when they tried to be intimate. It's a long, hard road to reverse that training.

Yes, I do believe that some people are incapable of intimacy. I'm not sure if it is something that we are born with or without, but I am a very intimate person, and have trouble finding a mate who is as intimate, and I end up feeling like I'm not being supported because he's not intimate with me, he just screws me and it's over. I need more!

can be developed.
requires a lot of patience and skill.
i recommend using some form of reflective listening
at first. you need to study how to create empathy.
since this will encourage intimacy.
if i were you i would get some books on reflective listening
and on empathy. use the techniques (coming from your heart)
with the person.
also study marshall rosenberg's nonviolent communication but this is more advanced, i would not start with this.
