Ask your friend first if she wouldn't be too upset about it. Friendships are more important than dates. Guys come and go, friends are forever. Don't ruin a friendship over it. Chances are she'll be ok with it anyway, but talking to her first will ease your conscience.

I know excactly how you feel.
I,ve been in exactly the same situation before and its not easy.

What i did (and luckily worked) was tell the person who asked me out that my friend liked her as well and he was my best mate so i couldnt betray him like that and she was absoulutly cool about it. I then told my mate what a had done and he was so happy that i thought our friendship was that strong that he wanted us to go together.

Me and her have been together for 3 months now and my friend is still my best mate (he has a girlfriend now). Im so glad i made the right decision.
be careful though because people are different and people take things in different ways.
best of luck

Ouch!

I would first talk to my friend....If I noticed that it hurt her any way...I would make a pack with her....Friends are more important then guys......
then say no to the guy.

With the pack in place you also know where you stand with your friend.
Friends are forever guys come and go......

Best wishes

Unless you want trouble in your friendship-tell the guy no thanks. No friend is worth losing for a guy.

I say go for it. Dont let her get him. This is your one and only chance with him. Take him only if you really like him.
