the blade on one side says , 58 rue de rome, the other side says irvefel inox, i know inox means stainless but the rest of these words has me puzzled, I cant find anything doing a internet search. does anyone out know what these words might mean

This knife must be french
First of all inox is the abbreviation of the french word inoxidable, which does means stainless (steel)
and rue de Rome is a street in Paris VIII°, where they might, at one time or another, have sold knifes.
As for "irfevel" if it only it read "erfevel" as it is "on the other side" it could be "Lefevre" backwards for the french knife manufacturer : Couteaux lame rétractable Couteaux fermant Lame en inox Manche en bois travaillé ."Lefèvre"... no longer in business unfortunately.

It mean 58 Roma street. It is an address as Rue mean street and rome may be rome with no changes as it is an appropriate name or to be roma as it is a country.

"irvefel" is probably the name of the manufacturer or distributing company, or else a trade abbreviation for a certain type of stainless steel, and the rest is an address, in English like Nr 58, "Rome Street".
