Works for me. When do you plan on converting to Catholicism the one true church?

Because no one can agree.

Each religion caters to a certain culture or way of thinking. For instance, a westerner couldn't possibly believe in the Hindu ideas of Karma and reincarnation as they had been brought up in a world that believes something entirely different.

I have a Hindu friend, who laughed out loud at the idea of Resurrection the first time they heard it.

But it's not only culture and upbringing. It's what suits a particular person. Christianity suits some people better than others, who looks for alternative ways.

Religion fills some with hope and makes others sick.

One of humanities greatest flaws, is that we can never truly unite and agree.

Actually, you did in fact state your question very clearly. I feel that what is going on with the different religions of the many feeling that theirs if the 'right one' ...that this is simply magnificent facets of the mind. We are children wondering and learning, age 7 or 87, we are all wondering, searching, learning. Yes, I agree there is one Truth...but personally don't feel it can be labeled with a specific name (as any certain religion is labeled). Thus my own self choosing to be 'labeled' spiritual / non-denominational (even after being in one specific church in my youth). I have awareness of many religions and faiths yet if all are really looked at closely ~ there is actually a common thread and basic core that all faiths share to the 'end' resolve and knowingness of what is True. So...I personally value and respect what path a person is taking that will, in the end, result in the same united knowingness of Truth. Church, Temple, other...all are fine. The Truth is 'heard' in Soul speech with the One.

The "One And True" Religion? I would love to know which one is that. However my belief is that all religions came to be, mainly to condition peoples mind in a certain way. Some people call it Brainwashing. The reason for different religions is as a result of a fact that There is no true or Authentic Religion. These "GODS" they praise are Myths,

My tradition believes that there are many valid paths. I believe that true religion is all the same, just different cultural practices and stories around the same truths. The issue is that people get caught up in their dogma and start to believe there's is the only way. If you look at Gnostic Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sufism (Islam), etc you will see that there is very much in common.

People accept only one true religion (at least Western Religions) because it would be contrary to their own to believe others are also true. It is contrary because each religion teaches such different theories and doctrines. They vary so much that if you were to believe more than one was true you would be saying that God is a confused God, and that he also does not care enough about mankind to give them proper guideance. If there is a God, he would provide his people a clear path.

I am new to my religion but my faith in what I believe has been with me forever. I'm probably not the logical one to answer this, however, I feel that as long as you are comfortable with your church, then no one has a right to sway you.

I would have to exclude any form of religion that would harm you. Physically or mentally.

God gave us all free will friend. Whether it be Methodist, Catholic, Baptist, find some place that makes you happy and comfortable. Study. Pray. God Bless.

You're right. It makes no sense. This is the great argument that will never be solved because people will never be able to all believe in the same thing. There is not one that is right. There are some that are better than all others, but none that is right.

I believe there are different paths because each soul is here to learn specific things for growth. One religion is the right one for certain individuals because what they require for growth is provided in its tenets. Other individuals require other aspects of spritituality for their growth. If you go to the very basics of all of the religions in the world, they share the same things: Treat your brother as you would like to be treated and love your God above all things. The rest is window dressing.

Nobody is born believing in any religion, it is an attempt to construct meaning of the unknown. You develop a belief based upon your upbringing.
