What do you think are the reasons why people like NASCAR?

I like it becuase it keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole race.You are wondering who is gonna win and who is gonna wreck and how r the cars gonna handle this race? Its full of questions to me.And because it is mostly a true sport.The guys that race are country boys(mostly) that are nice and all that jazz.They have all worked so hard to get where they are and it takes pure talent.Its amazing.Nascar feels like my home kinda.Better than any other sport in my opinion.I just love it!!

As a female nascar fan I can tell you only how I feel and how some others may feel. When was the last time you heard nascar was on strike for money issues , never also when it comes to the drivers and their families they still believe in the American dreams and rituals that all Americans hold true to including religion and you will find most drivers say a prayer before each race. One more thing no matter how much one may dislike another you will find in a time of need or emergency they will always be there for each other no matter the differences,they will set it aside any anger to help.

The concept of automobile racing is not new.Be it F1,NASCAR,NHRA,INDY CAR,CART,RALLEY....etc.It is a sport that brings together multy cultures of people.Not just the"rednecks" but the business men,the professionals,the everyday we meet on the street.
NASCARS southern roots do go back to the rural south but it goes much farther today with the major industries and even Wall Street involved.
Each person has their favorite sport from darts to football to dancing to speed sports.Each will condemn the other but will watch for how else will they know any about the sport they criticize.
Enjoy your favorite and I'll enjoy mine,and in 86 days I'll be watching the Daytona 500.

it's fun. it keeps you on the edge of your seat, just waiting to see what happens.
watching someone wreak out (not just a week spinnout), and crash adds drama to the sport. once you watch it, you become hooked to it.
this was the first year i started watching NASCAR. i did that after just going out to Walmart for a new video game. I bought the NASCAR chase fot the cup 2005. I got home, i played it for almost three hours. I was hooked on the game.
I then decided to watch a Saturday afternoon race. I have been watching ever since.
all this just because i wanted a new video game.
i can't wait til next year.

I think it has to do with the drivers more than the actual racing. First of all, out of all pro sports, NASCAR drivers seem to be the most approachable. Even though they make tons of money, most of them seem like regular guys that you might hang out and have a beer with and most of them seem like good natured family guys - not like pro baseball or football or basketball players. Also, you find out about a driver and his personality and whether he is a "good guy" or a "bad guy", who his rivals are, etc. I think that's why so many ladies like NASCAR...it's like a 200-mph soap opera. Unfortunately, I think all the corporate political correctness is starting to ruin a lot of that. Love him or hate him, we need more guys like Tony Stewart in NASCAR.

Because we do. If you don't like it, fine. It really annoys me when haters talk bad about the sport when they know nothing about it, (yes it is a sport). It's not just a 'redneck sport' either. It is a sport that involves skill, strategy, & a little bit of luck. Anyone who says that it's just 'cars driving in a circle' knows nothing about NASCAR. Driving 200 miles an hour for 400 or 500 miles is difficult to do & takes a lot of talent. I just like it.

Its the best sport in the world my life revolves around it and everything about it. I love the drivers especially #24 Jeff Gordon and I love seeing all the action and the races and the wrecks and everything about it is awesome. I can't imagine my life without it.

Its the best sport in the world. The endurance of the driving. The suspension of the race of whos gonna win and whos gonna crash, well thats usually Sterlin Marlin or Michael Waltrip. But anyways, its the best. I love it.

i personality like it cause of the hott drivers but i know that ppl in my family & myself also like it for the noise...idk what it is but we just like it...so yeah NASCAR is the best sport EVER!!
