This is a common problem. You will have to wear protective clothing. The Croissant Company do a lovely foil suit with headgear - and a small opening in the visor to pass the croissant through. They are still working on a model which you can use to eat hot croissants - these have been know to steam the inside of the visor up in cold weather.

Why are you eating croissants at work? A sandwich would be healthier. There are zillions of calories in croissants due to the amount of butter used to make the FLAKY pastry. Besides they leave grease stains on papers, the desk, and make the computer all sticky.
Croissants are strictly for Sundays as a treat and NOT in bed.

LOL I love this question as it could sum up my experience with croissants at work! I now leave it in the paper bag and tear bits off - the crumbs stay in the bag and I get my mouth sized piece!

This is really funny! Croissants are just like that. It is not for nothing that the dough they are made of is called "flaky pastry", I guess. In Paris they serve them with coffee and butter and apricot jam for early breakfast .. enjoy them ... you might try spreading out a napkin on your desk .
Cheers!

Find a big box. Sit in the box. Eat your croissant. Get out of the box. Tip the crumbs out of the box into a bin. Voila!

Glaze said croissant with polyeurathane varnish then bake for several hours at 200 celsius. It's ready ready when it bounces when dropped. Enjoy.

Eat it outside.

Hot ones don't crumble either. I decided to warm mine the first time I accidentally breathed in when I was eating one... coughed and spluttered for about half-hour then had to spend about 2 hours cleaning the mess.

Have you tried a plate? Hold it under your chin, the bits won't have so far to fall and you can eat the crumbs as well.
