The best place to start is the Gospel of John.. Then the whole New Testament. Then to go back and read the Old testament you will see Christ in it everywhere.... Jim

Have you read the New Testament? The bible, unlike most other books, is usually best not to be read through as it is put together - at least not the first time through.

After Genesis and Exodus, if you haven't already, go to the Gospels in the New Testament and read the accounts of the life of Jesus.
Then read the book of Acts...

Just a suggestion...

I have a Bible study plan - there are many different ones available - that takes you through the whole Old Testament in a year and the New Testament twice a year. You read different chapters from different sections every day.

If you are interested, email me.

But any bible reading is great! (It is just that some people get bogged down after Exodus and never really read the New Testament)

God bless!

Funny I tried the same thing. It seems that God doesn't want me to read the Bible. I don't understand a thing about what it's saying. Maybe I should put my faith in what the minister. He could explain what it all means, but he has to get out of jail first for that child molestation case he's dealing with.

You shall gain wisdom from God as you read His glorious word, and He shall bless you for doing His will, which is ...

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

To rightly divide is to fully understand what God is saying to you, and not falling pray to your own personal intrepretation of His word. For there is only one correct message that God has for us when we read the scriptures that is one continuing one that will guide you all through out your life. Praise the Lord. The Lord's word is not open to intreptation, but to be fully understood through the assistance of the Holy Spirit.

God bless you always
Carol

Good for you. Genesis is cool. Keep going. My favorite OT book is Isaiah.

Good work. If youve never read the Bible I would suggest you read exodus next and then judges, psalms, proverbs, daniel, then the NT.

The True Founder of Christianity

The teachings of Paul, the true founder of Christianity, cannot be found anywhere in the teachings of Jesus or in those of prophets before him.
