i've invited him for lunch, coffee or drinks a few times, but he's always said he's busy. makes me think he's not interested, and that i've just misread his actions/words. what is a good way for me to know if he likes me?

yes. he is no longer interested. if he likes you he would always find ways to be with you.

he actually shows a little interest. he could be not interested because he seems so busy saying no a few times for a cup or two of coffee for 10 minutes. maybe he doesn't want to hurt your feelings so he puts you off. find another man to date.

If you have asked him out several times and he has not excepted, than it would be best to wait and see what happens. If after you wait a few weeks and still he has not asked you back out. If you really like this guy and have to know just ask him.

Sorry but he obviously doesnt if he keeps turning you down. Have some dignity and let him go.

If i'm wrong he'll contact you and ask you out so its a win-win situation

??? but the fact that you refer to him as a japanese man, not just a man makes me wonder a bit about you....why is it necessary to label him that?
