Because they're shallow people that think that beauty is everything and don't care about what's inside, which is what really counts!

When we feel badly about ourselves we can't stand the feelings that it brings up, so we dissociate and project it onto the outside world ~ namely other people. If we make other people at fault then it gives us a sense of being innocent or better and this covers up the deep down belief that we're not good enough.

Sometimes it can be because we've been hurt in the past and there is a sense of wanting revenge or of wanting others to suffer like we have.

The bottom answer is that when we come upon people hurting us or others, then it is just a reflection of how badly they are feeling about themselves. They are probably feeling very insecure and even a failure in some ways.

Jealously, Most people who are hurtful, unkind or without manners to others do so because they are jealous of the person in some other way. You may be more intelligent, secure, wealthier, more sophosicated, sexy or have a better family, better boyfriend than them and they are competing to be viewed as equal or better more superior than you.

You must understand you are unique and have certain qualities that another person does not have and you will build some self-confidence.

Spend a moment and write 10 things you like most about yourself and 10 things you can improve and have control and 10 things you have no control of. In your lavatory bathroom post the 10 things you are proud of and read them every morning when you awaken. keep the improvement list in a private place and each day work on one of the things you have identified. ]

Finally, take the list of things you cannot control rip it up and through it away. Forget about this things and focus on the positive and the improving

Regards

People hurt other people because it makes them feel powerful. It's the same for children as it is adults. Bullying can be mental, physical or sexual. Children have to learn to stand up for themselves and adults assume bullying won't happen to them when they grow up. Not true! There is no such thing as ugly. Everyone is different and no one is perfect, EVER!! If you think you are ugly, look at your parents. You are made up of half of each of them. If you told them how you feel, it would devastate them. You may not have "film star" looks but that's because they are airbrushed and covered in make up. A real smile on anyone is the most beautiful thing to possess and it's free. Don't be bullied. Smile and say "You are only bullying me because you are weak!" and walk away. Trust me. Bullies don't bully if they don't get a response.

People should not be classified as ugly based on their looks. True beauty comes from within. People who call others ugly have seen this and this is their way of trying to out them down. To me a beautiful person is one who has a good heart.

Some people are insecure and they think that by constantly pointing out the (perceived) flaws in others no one will notice their own flaws. This can usually be corrected with behavior therapy. Other people have been hurt and are miserable inside. They want everyone else to be as miserable as they are. This usually requires advanced psychiatric care to correct.

I don't know why they do this, it is very sad people have to take their feelings out on others. We must stop it from schools all the way up to work places to get rid of it, but i believe it will never stop as people enjoy it and get away with it. Great question though!!

Usually because they were treated this way as a child themselves. Add on from that the fact that they are probably very unhappy, insecure people that don't know how to change too.

I guess that when someone is feeling depressed and like their life is crap then they ty to make other people feel the same. It's selfish I know but it's a cry for help really.
