Yes you can freeze raw veg. I do it but it's not in the freezer for very long. Part cooking, or blanching is supposed to slow down the decaying process, but I've never found it necessary.

Yes you can freeze raw carrots cut into rings or sticks then put into a bag draw the air out and date it, You can also do the same with onions -- but other vegetables you have to blanch and the way you do that is to prepare the veg bring some water up to boiling point then drop in the veg and bring back to boil -- then time them 3 minutes then bring them out and put into ice water till cold then dry them by placing on a clean tea towel dab dry and bag taking out air then secure bag and put date on it.

Yes, you certainly can however some veggies need to be blanched before freezing to stop the sugars from turning into starch such as corn. Blanching is the process of putting the veggies in boiling water for only a minute then wrapping tightly and freezing.

You should blanche them first (plunge them into boiling water for a minute, then plunge them into cold water to refresh them), as freezing creates ice particles inside the veggies, and as ice molecules are bigger than water molecules, these will break down the cell walls in the veggies. This means that they will deteriorate, and the quality will not be great. If you blanche them first, the veggies will freeze better, as they'll be chemically changed by the blanching.

Yes you can freeze it and here is how I know!
Whilst cooking dinner at home a few weeks ago I stumbled across a new potato that was perfectly heart shaped.
I didn't boil it - oh no - I put it in my bag and took it to my boyfriends house.
I gave him my heart. (everyone say aaahhh)
He was well chuffed with his tatws (potato in Welsh)
And took me upstairs and - well that bit is private.
We had a big debate about what to do with the tatws.
As we know our love will last forever, we would like the tatws to last too.
We were going to gloss it, wrap it in gaffer tape, try and get some liquid nitrogen, all kinds of things.
But guess what we decided.
Yep, we decided to freeze it.
It has been in my boyfriends freezer ever since and is in perfect condition, until the electric goes, but that is another story.
So in answer to your question, as is the yahoo answer tradition, -YES YOU CAN FREEZE RAW VEG.

Of course you can. I never freeze partly cooked veg. If anything u want to freeze it as soon as it's picked from the garden as this will keep the most nutriants in it till your ready to cook and eat it.
