Of course it doesn't. .... .. . .In the case of 'Kramer', Richard __(I can't think of his last name), and his offensive remarks towards blacks at the Laugh Factory Comedy Club, why have the 2 black guys that he was yelling the 'n' word at, now gotten a high profile lawyer and think they are due 'compensation' ???

Serious question, so please, serious answers only. Thank you and God Bless.

To clear-up any confusion. .... .I personally watched 2 interviews with those guys. And they claim they were scared for their lives and felt that he should pay. They do have a lawyer and her name is Gloria Allred. I think that people should make sure they know what they're talking about, before they speak.. see the response that claims they dropped it and don't have a lawyer.

They are doing it because they can. They think they just won the lottery. I think what he did was way out of line but at the first remark why didn't they leave? that was my first question.
Why shout back and verify his speech. If all the blacks just got up and walked out. That would have sent a clear message that is not to be tolerated. But suing is just to easy. Did you see the size of those guys? they were not afraid, but saw an excuse to earn some easy money. He deserves it I guess but to hecklers they can leave. The comedian are under contract and can't just walk out. So they pretty much had him over a barrel and it sounds like they gave it as good as he did.

Mav heard Gloria Allred interview today. They have not filed any lawsuit at this time. Michael Richards has been asked to contact Ms Allred for a 'face to face' with the men.
It is not Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson he needs to apologize to, it is those he spoke to.

Mav's thought is: It's not the 'n' word that he would be sued for, it's the thinly veiled threat when he said that 50 years ago they would be hung with a fork up their behinds.

But that is just Mav

I don't agree with frivolous lawsuits, that is what is wrong with our court system now. People take suit against big corporations like McDonald's because their coffee was too hot, duh, isn't it supposed to be? Or I even read where a robber robbed a house and sued the people because he got trapped in their basement and got sick being down there. I could fill up this page with these kind of examples.
I do think that Michael Richards was wrong and went off the deep end, but people should just not go to his show when they are offended, if his attendance to his shows are depleted, that is what gets their point across.

No, chances are they will lose. If you listen to the audio from that night, the 2 black guys were yelling up on stage at 'Kramer' calling him a cracker and a honky and all that crap as well.

Though when 'Kramer' said, "When I wake up tomorrow I'll still be rich, when you wake up tomorrow you'll still be a n*gger." I thought that was kinda funny, but it just as easily could've been poor or ugly or fat in place of the "n" word.

I think America is a bit sue happy, but in the case of these dudes, they should at least get compensated for their night being ruined by a crazy person.

If you heckle a comedian at a comedy club, you're gonna get slapped down.

I think if worst comes to worst, the ACLU (who everybody seems to hate) will support freedom of speech in this instance.

Actually, the customers have NOT hired a lawyer (high profile or otherwise) and when interviewed the other day said that they understood he was having a bad day and it was over as far as they were concerned.

Creating and spreading rumors is why people don't get any respect from others. I don't respect you now.

Freedom of speech. You're allowed to be as prejudiced, stupid and viscious as you want as long as you're not breaking any laws. And there aren't any laws against using racial slurs. Kramer is allowed his opinion, and I think he'll suffer plenty for it without the lawsuit.

I don't think so, but it does seem like if you have enough money or notoriety you can do anything you want to anyone you want...Look at O.J. or Michael Jackson for example...But I don't think this will ever go to trial. At best, maybe a small out-of-court settlement.

We are the most litigenous nation in the world thanks to trial lawyers taking their large cuts. They have ruined part of the medical profession. I am sure some lawyer would take your case.
