The Iraq War has turned into a huge military and political blunder.
It is probably creating more terrorists than it is eradicating.
The French probably had the best analysis of this in 2003, pre-invasion.

The Iraq was never had anything to do with terrorism. They (the Neocons) used 9/11 as an excuse to do what they'd been itching to do for over a decade. It was their cockamamie theory of planting a Democracy in the Midddle East, which would then spread a wave of Democracy across the region and make it safe for Israel. That's the real reason for the War. As for France, when France did nto go along with us, they started a really ugly "Hate France" campaign here to distract from what they were up to. Shwos what ugly minds they have.

Well no hard Feelings but...
THe French haven't won a war in over 2 centuries. Of course the French are a little gun shy about entering a war. But they should have remembered that they were on teh Side of the US and that the US was not going to allow the French to surrender. The war in Iraq was meant to liberate the Iraqi people. Think back about 62 years and you will know about what it is like to be liberated.
I think that French were being typical French. The fact that France allows known Terrorist to reside in France free is pathetic.

Yes, many Americans think (or at least in the past tense, thought) the war in Iraq was meant to stop terrorism. Perhaps not in the sense like the attack on the WTC, but certainly in the sense that the world would be safer without someone in power like SH. That Americans could sleep safer if Iraq wasnt being run by a mass murderer. You have to understand the mentality of Americans after the WTC attack. We no longer felt safe, and not being proactive to stop 'bad men' before they came over to the US and carried out something like this was no longer a possibility.
As for how Americans felt against the French, well, the French are great at talking the talk... however not so great at walking the walk. I'm married to a French guy, I like in France, my daughter is French for crying out loud!! so I have nothing against the French. To hear my family talk though, it makes me laugh. It's about gone now, but at the beginning of the war in Iraq there was all sorts of negative comments being made against those frenchies, as they would say. Certainly not just my family, but people everywhere. Of course we were looking for support, for actual answers, instead of 'wait'... after 9/11 there was no more waiting in the eyes of Americans. Action needed to be taken. Looking back we can say, no - we went about it in the wrong manner - but that's just looking back.
I gotta get back to packing (we're leaving for holidays in Guadeloupe before moving internationally) or else I could be here all day trying to explain this to you. I've tried with my husband, he's a typical 'brainwashed' frenchie as I was calling him last night (the Israel/Pal. conflict discussion at the dinner table got a bit heated) and wont listen to what I say. Or else what I say isnt enough to get him to understand. Imagine the Eiffel Tower/Louvre/other French symbol was bombed, and 3,000 people killed. How would the French react? Would there always be clear thinking in times of crisis such as this?

The French aren't against the war they are on the other side. As I've said before we should activate the Mississippi national guard and let them conquer France. It could take as long as a week after they arrive.
The alternative would simply be to nuke the French now.

The french were against the war because they were making tons of money off of Iraq going against the UN resolutions, so don't try the noble crap because they won't fly. The war in Iraq was not because of the 9/11 attacks and you should know that.

I dont fully support the war. I am a military wife have been for 5yrs. My husband is in iraq for the second time. As I do support our troops to the fullest i do not fullt support the war as is the same for some men and women in iraq fighting this war. they are doing their job. I do blieve in ways that the war was meant to fight. We removed an awful dictator, we are trying to improve the living status for the iraqi people. As though I believe its a lost cause for some of the people over there. They dont want ot change its in their beliefs to act the way they do. Its a shame too... there country has come a long way and would be further if they would stop blowing themselves up. Am I the only person whom believes that there has to be something wrong with these people to think its okay to strap a bomb to their bodie and throw themselves in a crowded area.... And BOOM! Innocent people have to die for what what are they trying to prove. That they just murdered innocent loved ones.... If I was cruel like them I would jjust say pull our troops out bring them home to the US to be safe and let them idiots just kill each other off!! but that not me. My parents and religion didnt raise me like that. I am thankful for that.
