Because it puts pressure on the diaphragm, it's much the same as hiccoughs. Try an antacid tablet to relieve it.

I dont know- I do too- not like a hacking cough or anything, just a little cough once or twice- just after Ive eaten a lot. But then its gone. It doesnt carry on. Weird

Maybe you're stomach is too full and the food inside it is starting to go inside your throat.

because the food causes an airlock and you can't fart, it has to come out the other end
