Well what religions are man made is a matter of opinion and not one that can be honestly answered objectively. What relgion is the oldest in history is also unknowable because many polythestic relgions we know of have no a certained beginning to them. We do not know how far back relgions go - possible to the first man and if you are of the monotheistic belief or polytheistic belief you will acertain that yours goes back to the first man.

As to your questions regarding the Book of Morman written by Joseph Smith (and I am sure I will offend someone by simplely saying he wrote it) I would suggest you look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mormons to begin some of your reading on the subject.

Good Luck!!!

All religions are man made, that is the short answer for that. The oldest operating religions are Judaism and some elements of the pagan tradition that still operate.

The Book of Mormon was put together by Joseph Smith and I believe is no more than a few hundred years old, although I believe it's really just additions to the original Christian Bible. The Temple in Salt Lake City is much newer than that but I'm not even going to try to guess,it should be easy to look up to get proper verification rather than an answer on here.

Of course if you want really old religions to study then you get into ones which no longer operate as any real presence, such as the worship of the God Baal,of course that predates Christianity by centuries but is no loger existent as a real religion anymore. He was a deity of the canaanite peoples around 1300 bc or so,interestingly enough he has a similarity with Christ, every year during celebrations his worshppers celebrated his death and ressurection, although his celebration was often celebrated with sacrifices, but the point is in the similarity. Later he has been usurped inj some traditions as a Christian demon.

Your primary question I will not answer except for the narrative that serves as questions. (Usually, a question mark is used at the end of every question.)

1. The Book of Mormon was written between the years 600 B.C. and 421 A.D. by prophets called of God. These writings were recorded on brass and gold plates.

2. The foundation of the temple in Salt Lake City was begun in about 1848 and it took 40 years for its completion.

3. Moroni, the son of Mormon, was the resurrected angel that visited Joseph Smith and, besides the four years of instruction given him, showed the young man where the gold plates were hidden.

4. After the inspired translation of those plates into what is now called the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith returned those plates to the angel Moroni.

Added Note: Data on the Salt Lake City Temple:
ANNOUNCEMENT: 28 July 1847
SITE DEDICATION: 14 February 1853, by Heber C. Kimball
GROUNDBREAKING: 14 February 1853, by Brigham Young
PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE: 5 April 1893
DEDICATION: 6–24 April 1893, by Wilford Woodruff

All religions are man made, especially Mormonism.

The book of Mormon was written before 1830. It has been changed many times since its original version, by the way.
Joseph Smith, who was delving into the forbidden occult, took some verses from the Bible, some writings from other men and some of his occult inspired ideas and put it all together to form the Book of Mormon as well as his other writings.

I am not sure how old is the temple in salt lake but I am sure that it could be found out easily by searching google.

Read Genesis to see what religion was the first.

Hinduism is the oldest religion in the world still widely practiced today. Book of mormon was written sometime between 1830 and 1840. The myth(and thats what it is exactly, a myth) came from Joseph smith.

All religions are man made. The underlying spirituality is where truth lies, but religion is man's endeavor to connect with the Divine.

I believe Hinduism is the oldest living religion. There were older ones, but they have not had an unbroken chain of practice to today.

You have to know the Bible to know whether or not a church is man-made. If you read the Bible and see that a church strictly follows the Bible and does everything according to the Bible and doesn't have man made rules and doctrine then you can feel good knowing that you are practicing the same religion as the first church that dates back to "on this rock I will build my church". I am only vaguely familiar with the book of mormon, but I believe the Bible to be the perfect complete will of God and I believe the book of mormon to be man made and not inspired of God. The Bible warns against false prophets and doctrines. I don't want to get in a denomination debate but just stick very closely to the Bible and realize it is the ONLY authority on how we should worship. If it isn't scriptural it isn't right. There are a lot of religions out there that don't follow the Bible and do what seems right to them and the Bible teaches that "there is a way that seems right to men, but leads to death". Study your Bible and pray for understanding... it is what God says- not the people on this board that matters most.

religion is man made.

The oldest ones can be up for debate.

Judaism is over 5000 years old
Wicca is also very old and may have roots in prehistoric times.

remember that 99% of all the religions in the world have one theme in common "everyone be nice to each-other". where we as people get into trouble is in our interpretation. it becomes "be nice to each-other my way or I'll kill you."

when it said thou shall not suffer a witch to live the Spanish Inquisition interpreted it to mean kill witches (and heretics) but they over looked the fact that if you convert them they are no longer witches (and you don't have to kill them). After-all "thou shalt not kill".
