Yes by the simply natured that their is only one and not two parents to deal with the issues that child-rearing need. However, that does not mean that a one-parent families cannot be a successful model to rear children in.

Respectfully!!!

I wouldn't say disadvantaged exactly. I'm a single parent and I do all the things two parents should, I work, I study, I run the house and I raise my children to be respectful, helpful and independant. Yes at times I wish I had someone there to help when I've had a bad day but on the whole I don't think we are doing too badly. Take a look around you - I have seen families where both parents argue about how to bring up their kids and their differing opinions just make their children confused. I have seen the mum do everything while the dad sits on his backside all day. I know mums who spend their day drinking while the dad is out working and the kids are at school.

The nuclear family used to be the norm but now most kinds of families are accepted by society. Quality of life at home is more important.

Financial aid wise and assistance wise yes. A one parent family is considered by the government and many non-profit organizations as you say at a "disadvantage" because there are not two incomes and therefore most times not enough money to provide for a family. If you are looking for assistance there are many foundations, programs and many government run in order to assist you. I think if you were more specific with your question and gave some details as to what you are looking for in an answer it would help us to answer you better. Are you referring to needing money for school, are you in need of money or services? what is this question in reference to for financial aid...I have listed some of websites for assistance below but without more information I do not know how helpful they will be. Good Luck

Yes, kids need two parents and each of the parents need help. There can be no question that either boys or girls benefit from having a man and a woman as parents.

The best is two parents, but even a single parent, is better than a single parent dating with kids. Successrul single parents concentrate on raising the children. Introducing strangers into the mix is not a good recipe.

of course its easier if there are two parents but doesnt mean being a single parent you have to miss out on anything, you can still build a successful career etc,its just a little bit more difficult but not impossible

no. Everyone seems to expect to be in the same fanancial position as others. Different jobs, circumstances, abilities all contribute to a persons financial position.

Our "I'm owed it, its my right" society seems to have forgotten this.
