There are a few different ways to remove body hair:
1. Razor - Not permanent, usually not painful, fast, thicker re-grow hair.
2. Depilatory shaver - Not permanent, painful, fast, skin may be cut, dry or itchy.
3. Tweezers - Not permanent, painful, slow, thicker re-grow hair.
4. Radiation - Maybe permanent, painful, slow, side effect of burnt or scars, hair re-grow.
5. Electronic - Maybe permanent, painful, slow, and may have skin allergy reaction.
6. Waxing - Not permanent, painful, fast, thicker re-grow hair
7. IPL - 98.9% permanent, slight tingling sensation, fast, no side effect.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) disables hair roots and prevents them from growing back. The system transmits pulsing light via the melanin pigment in the hair down into each follicle and uses heat to disable the hair-growth mechanism.
Body hair grows in three different cycles: active growth, regression and resting. IPL can be expensive. Because of the hair growth cycle, it's recommended to do at least 5 times with an interval of 1 1/2 month to 2 months before you can achieve total hair removal permanently. I've done IPL as they advertised that it's not painful at all, only slight tingling sensation, and compared to the other ways of hair removal, this is a much better option since some of it are also painful anyway. But it really depends where you do it. For more sensitive skin area, it's very painful and a torture. Especially the bikini line area. Many people gave up going through the whole 5 times programs, but if you can tolerate pain, it's actually very fast. Just need to bite your teeth, hug a pillow, and bear with the pain for about 5 mins. For underarm, it's not painful. I've not done the other parts but I think for legs and arms, it will be just tingling sensation. It also depends how how thick the hair is.
After this 5 times, there maybe just some 'stubborn left over' for touch up and some salon may have the program that guarantee it. Like you sign up a program of 5 times and free 5 times for one year, for the touch up. Thereafter, you can enjoy hairless for life.

A blowtorch and paintscraper is a quick and effective method. Don't forget to use a cooling lotion afterwards, though!
