Take her to the local dog pound. or RSPCA depending on where you are. I tink they will check the over for you these days. But if not i think they keep them for a time to see if the owner comes forward, after all the dog may belong to somebody. So try not to get to attached. xx good luck pet rescuer

We aren't vets here, but my compassion for dogs would suggest you taking it to the vet for a check up. If you don't want to foot the bill, then keep doing what you are doing, and make sure it has water to get to at all times. Eventually it should drink some. Try to mix some chopped meat with some dry food. WHATEVER you do, do not let it eat any turkey BONES. That would actually kill it! Those chicken or turkey bones will not digest, and splinter possibly piercing the intestine.
It probably is not eating or drinking at the present time because it is in a strange environment. Watch for any ill symptoms, and it's your call if you decide to take it to the vet. Good luck!

She's not nervious,,,, She's scared, her family is away from her with no way for her to get back to them,, she might be disorianted. She has no idea who you are, if you hand her the food and she looks at you lowering her head thats a sign that she does not know you but will allow you to help so much. The not going to the bathroom is a signt hat she has something wrong with her, What? I dont know. The not drinking could result in even more health problems what you could try doing is getting a suringe and try giving her some water by force (not recommanded if not knowing how to do it) Once again I go into a chat room with people willing to help animals in all situations,, most have been through more situations with there animals than one could imagine. Once again the chat room is pets and animals 1 under science in yahoo messanger

It sounds like an Australian Shepherd, they are usually tri-colored and have no tail.
She's probably nervous about being lost. Aussies are very loyal and are sometimes a little shy in new situations or with new people (Unless their master tells them "It's OK"). Try to take her for a walk and see if the scent of other animals will help her potty situation. As far as eating, she'll eat when she's ready - Don't give her people food though, it's really not good for her...
Try to find her owner by putting an ad in the paper and putting up signs around where you found her.

Some times animals don't like very cold water. Try offering her warm water. If you are giving her dry food maybe she is used to can or pouched dog food? If you are offering her a choice between turkey and dog food it wouldn't be surprising that she chooses the turkey!
She may not have ate for a long time before you found her so her bowels are empty.
It's a very kind and wonderful thing you are doing for her. I hope you are able to locate her owner.

If she isn't eating dog food then chances are that she isn't very starved. She should eventually start eating and drinking properly. Just keep her safe and post an ad in your local paper saying that you found her. If she seems healthy then someone is likely looking for her. Good Luck

Try listing her in the Lost and Found, maybe you can find the owner. If she looks healthy and well groomed, evidently some owner is missing her.I doubt something is wrong with her,but for safety percautions I wouldn't let my pets around her.

It's sounds like she's got a case of jangled nerves, probably from being lost. They do get really scared. She may be an Australian shepherd if she has a cropped tail. Keep soothing her and get her to eat what she will...and keep water out for her. Eventually she'll drink and will pee (hopefully not on your carpet!).

shes nervouse and not familar with the diet you are trying to feed her perhaps she belongs to a family who feed her leftovers from their meal
take her to a vet and find out if she is microchipped
some border collies dont have tails so dont worry
make sure she has plenty of cool water available and wet her nose with the water from the dish when he/she is near it
she may not have eaten in a while hence why she has not gone to the toilet
be calm peaceful and nice to the dog and please take her to a vet
