It's a Rollar Coaster ride.

They were Smaller,.. we were doing well,.. they got bigger,.. and bigger,.. and then smaller just to prepare us for them to get bigger and bigger,.. and warning you they were getting bigger,.. smaller but still bigger,.. and things stayed that way,.. then they made some specials,.. pretend it's bigger.. then release much smaller as if that was normal size to begin with,.. another special,.. another shrink,.. another shrink,.. and now we find ourselves faceing something that's smaller then 15 years, bigger then 3,... It's just annoying.

The Prices are worse. Far more annoying. They decided years ago to switch from the 20-33 cents normally from all the sales and stuff to like $1 then $1.34 per small/normal bar. The price has been bounceing around,.. but... to give you the best understanding. I could get a Snickers for 25 cents normally in like 1999,.. then 2002=$1.50 at some point.

This money is US Dollars/Curency.

You can make them bigger by deep frying them.

Deep Fried Mars Bars
Invented in Scotland, this dish has now become famous worldwide. It is an excellent source of fat, sugar and calories. For a seasonal variation you could also try deep frying a Cadbury's Creme Egg.

1 Mars bar or Milky Way bar
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup cornflour
1 pinch baking soda
milk or beer
oil (for deep frying)

10 min 5 min prep

1. Chill the chocolate bar by keeping it in the fridge, but don't freeze it.
2. Mix the flours and bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) together.
3. Add milk (traditional) or beer (which gives a lighter result) until you get a batter with the consistency of thin cream.
4. Heat the oil until a small piece of bread will brown in a few seconds, but don't allow to smoke.
5. Remove wrapper from chilled chocolate bar.
6. Coat completely in batter.
7. Carefully lower into hot oil and fry until golden brown.

Serve, with ice cream or french fries, if you're so inclined.

They have definitely shrunk, while at the same time becoming more expensive - I remember when it was about 20-25p for a Mars bar!

Yes they were bigger. They don't want to keep putting the prices up because we'de notice, so they decide to start shrinking the bars instead, that way it doesn't cost them as much to make one, so they are profiting that way instead. Do they really think we're that daft and not notice what they are doing.

No, it's not just you. I used to pay a nickel for what seemed to be a larger bar, but I have no proof that they have changed in size since 1960.

Probably an illusion. I always thought the same about chocolate wagon wheels. Things probably seemed relatively bigger when you are a kid than an adult.
