i want to concentrate 12000 kg/h sugar solution from 30% to 40%. Feed temperature is 60 degree C and the vapor temperatur is 80 degree C. i've calculated it using single effect evaporator, the steam economy is 0.75.
Do i need to use multiple effect evaporator?
Vapor = 3000 kg/h, steam needed= 3900 kg/h.

OK, the multiple effect evaporator is going to be more efficient. But for a sugar solution (jams, jellys, orange juice) it is pretty common to use a vacuum evaporator. I'd have to look at some steam tables to see what this does for you but you could pull the vacuum so that the boiling point was at the feed temperature and reduce the sensible heat load to almost zero.

I doubt it would offset the energy cost of running the blowers to produce the vacuum. But the lower temperatures would be better for the sugar solution.
