I had planned a surprise shopping trip to London but my brother got wind of this and invited her to London 3 days before my planned trip. So, I don't want to be like "Surprise! London....again."
I want to give her an experiance she will always remember rather than a gift she will put in a drawer and forget about. I've thought of the usual theatre, spa, makeover etc. But I want something really unusual.

A beautiful day to London to start with (Mum will think London shopping) then get on the Royal Orient Express to Bath for a great trip.

First class lounge and dinner etc, great things to do and see in Bath and a great trip back - she will love it.

When I looked at doing this it was about £450 each i think.

Best wishes hope it helps

How about a cookery day school pass even if she can cook, its a nice experience usually with dinner and overnight stay. Can be in UK or Ireland.
What about a hot air ballon trip, driving a racing car or tank!
If she is adventurous paint balling, not just for the young.
A day trip on a plane to Iceland, Venice etc
Hope this helps

How about Cadbury World with a tour of the factory? Does anyone ever outgrow a love for chocolate? :)

Either that or if she's a foodie, take her to a restaurant owned by Gordon Ramsey: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Ramsey

or Heston Blumenthal (Fat Duck): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heston_Blumenthal
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fat_Duck

or Alain Roux (Waterside Inn) http://www.waterside-inn.co.uk/

Fat Duck and Waterside Inn are both in Bray, Berkshire and Gordon Ramsey (best known because of his books and TV shows) has several to choose from.
