Although many claims have been made for Apple cider vinegar as an aid in weight loss and fat burning, there is no significant scientific evidence to support this claim. Apple cider vinegar is a solution of acetic acid produced by fermentation of apples. It consists of acid and water and only relatively small quantities of minerals. Although, it does contain a fair amount of Pectinicon, which has recently been identified as lowering cholesterol and may be the secret behind it's fat burning effects.

However, there are literally thousands of people over the years who swear by it and testimonials abound. Apple cider vinegar has been claimed to relieve arthritis stiffness, sore throats, acne and other skin problems, remove liver spots, reduce cholesterol, promote good blood circulation, prevent dandruff, sooth sunburn, lower blood pressure, relieve headaches, improve digestion and burn fat. The lack of significant scientific evidence, only indicates that not enough studies have been conducted. The recent return in popularity of this diet is now sparking interest in several studies.

I know people who have lost weight this way. At any rate, apple cider vinegar is good for the system. I take a "swig" three times a day if I'm having trouble with heartburn....it cools it right down. There are many, many uses for apple cider vinegar. There is even a huge website that lists all the uses. Just type in the search bar "vinegar" and go from there. It's amazing!

Hey, it's almost New Years. What a great time to make a resolution to lose weight! I wish you the best of luck in it.

You really have to look at two areas of your life and adjust them to match your goals:

* Diet
* Exercise

You simply can't get around these two facts. You have to consume fewer calories than you burn each day to loose weight. So if you don't change your diet, then you'll have to exercise more. Frankly, it's easier to adjust both things. Eat less, or eat smarter and exercise moderately. You don't have to go overboard. A 20 minute walk around the block is exercise.

Find someone who can share the goal with you. Another overweight friend who will walk with you. That helps a lot. You can encourage each other.

Apple cider vinegar diet
Use of apple cider vinegar for weight loss can be traced to ancient Egyptians. It was believed that apple cider vinegar propelled the body metabolism to burn fat faster. Its cholesterol reducing properties might be the secret behind its ability to burn fat too. The combination of acetic vinegar and fruit pectin may be effective in weight loss. While proponents of the apple cider vinegar diet claim that a few teaspoons of apple vinegar before a meal can help you shed weight, others call it a fad diet.

There is no scientific evidence showing that apple cider vinegar can aid in weight loss. Followers of the apple cider vinegar diet claim that it is effective against weight loss when complemented by a sensible diet and exercise program. Apple cider vinegar diet involves consumption of 2-3 teaspoons of apple vinegar before every meal. It may be difficult at first due to the strong acidic nature of the vinegar.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Yes. You have to drink quite a lot, 1 pint a day. My mum's an anorexic she swears by it. She can't walk anymore, but it worked.

You may also use apple cider in place of the vinegar.

It may also help if you shower more often.

I believe it does. I drink 2 teaspoons in glass of water 3 times a day before meals. I have lost 26kg in 6 weeks. I am on a 1300 calorie a day low fat diet and walk 3 - 5 times a week

Apple Cider Vinegar. It's pretty much an old wives tale, but if you had some diluted in water every morning, what would it hurt either way?

It's not a 'diet', it's just a supplement.
