They do female circumcision. Mohammed owned and traded slaves. He commanded that women and children be taken as slaves in battle, and allowed them to be raped after capture. His followers continued the practice for centuries until it was forced to an end in most regions by European armies.

Islam's Black Slaves notes: "the Quran stipulated that female slaves might lawfully be enjoyed by their masters." Mohammad himself owned many slaves, some of whom he captured in wars of conquest and some he purchased. The names of forty slaves owned by Mohammad are recorded by Muslim chroniclers. Islamic law (Sharia) contains elaborate regulations for slavery. A slave had no right to be heard in court (testimony was forbidden by slaves), slaves had no right to property, could marry only with the permission of the owner, and were considered to be chattel, that is the movable property, of the slave owner. Muslim slave owners were specifically entitled by Sharia law to sexually exploit their slaves, including hiring them out as prostitutes.

One reason why very little has been written about the Arab involvement in slavery is that traditional Islamic culture still condones slavery. The Sharia, the codified Islamic law which is based upon the teachings and example of Mohammad,

contains explicit regulations for slavery. One of the primary principles of Islam is following the example of Mohammad. Whatever Mohammad did, we must do, what he forbade, we must forbid, what he did not forbid, we may not forbid. As Mohammad himself traded in slaves and owned slaves, accumulating multiple wives, even marrying a six year old, and having concubines - slavery and the sexual exploitation of women is deeply ingrained in Islamic tradition. Muslim nations had engaged in the slave trade for over 600 years before Europe became involved in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.

That's the problem with the Guys that follow this prophet....
They deal in "absolutes" and nothing else.

Would they treat their mother or sister like this? OF COURSE they would...Because Dear old Dad and Grandad would shove a stick up Son's *** if he didn't follow their rules....

The sorry part about this situation is that the ORIGINAL Foundational TEXT is based upon the REALLY REALLY OLD
"Old Testament"....like back in 2000 B. C. when Ishmael didn't get "The Blessing" and Issac did.....

So God said these 2 Boys will fight all the time, and they still do...
You'll drop a load if these 2 ever become butt-buddies....

That's the end times, when the Beast and the Anti-Christ make a one-World order, Mark their Minions with the "Mark of the Beast" Get rid of all religions except there own....

Wait....isn't that what that IRANIAN PRESIDENT WANTED JUST RECENTLY???

Islam doesn't require female circumcision. That's an African tradition. During the period that Mohammed had slaves, Christians had them, too. You must remember when slavery was illegalized in USA. Rape is a common disgusting practice in wars. Christian Serbs did this to Muslim women in Bosnia. And I doubt that any prophet would order such a practice.

And as a last point, Muslim women as a whole arenot repressed. Repression of women is a regional and cultural practice, not a religious one.

If you have started questioning, maybe you would like to question why the Vatican bans abortion, which must be a personal choice for women, not something to be decided by men.

I say, open your eyes and shed your prejudices.

This is totally a wrong misconception that Muhammad(pbuh) had slaves n all, rather he came and eliminated this concept and the system of NIKAH came into being. and also women fought and participated as paramedics during the era of Muahammad. in wars. and the wife of Muhammad was herself a business woman. :)

Today, due to some educated illiterates, muslim women have been presented wrongly. Muslim women have got full rights to educate themselves, they do have freedom also and they are to walk with men shoulder to shoulder NOT crossing their limits of modesty and covering their bodies. They should cover themseleves properly as not to reveal and expose the shape of their bodies which could attract men and could then lead to many probs.

I would suggest you to read Dr. Zakir Naik as he has clearly stated the Women and Islam.

Islam is the only religion who has given women so many of the rights and space in this world.
women are not treated the way they shud be, is a different arguement.

Please consider the following:
1: EX-Prime minister of Bangladesh... Khaida zia,Sheikh Haseena -- women
2: Ex. prime minister of Pakistan: Benzair bhutto.. woman
3: Ex.prime minister of Turkey: Mrs. Tansou Chilar
and most recent The arab muslim woman who has topped in physics
4: and the woman who recently visited, space.
5: countless physicians and surgeons,,justices, lawyers, accountants and so on...
6: muslim business women

THE LIST IS SO LONG.... educated ureself !!!

Oh Glenn Beck is a source now? The man who asked a person elected to the US Congrees to prove that he is not "working with our enemies."? Glenn Beck, as Jon Stewart puts it: "Finally, a man who says what people who aren't thinking are thinking."

As for the original question, it is obvious from the tone that it is not a question to be answered, but rather, a simple display of bias that one person holds. This person does not wish to learn what his/her ignorance is preventing him/her from learning. Rather, this person is spreading infromation to prove a preconceived point of Islam being evil. So, I will not answer that. When a question is asked by someone for the sake of dialogue and understanding, I would gladly answer. But this one is asked in the spirit of hatred; and therefore I would not get myself involved.
