We put our tree up during the first weekend of December - it's for the kids and it gives them time to get hysterical about christmas for a couple of weeks.

i have gone a far as going in the loft to check on the decorations, and get the advent candles and calenders down, i usually put up the first weekend in December, but we are dog sitting then for my sister whilst she away, so when the dog goes home, i shall put ours up then, which will be about 12 days before christmas this year. I dont think it should go up before December though. I love seeing the kids faces when they come home from school and walk in the living room and the tree is up.

Around here in the South Wales valleys, the Christmas trees start to make an appearance as soon as bonfire night is over.
Also as many decorations as you can possibly fit on the front of a terraced house (including the roof). It's like living in Santa's grotto.
Personally I think Christmas starts as soon as the chocolate calendar does 1st December.
That makes us one of the last to comply.

I usually put mine up the weekend before Christmas but, as Christmas is on a Monday this year, I think it will be on 17th December. lol
It would be lovely to put the tree up on Christmas Eve, but there are so many other things to do that I don't think that would be very clever.

I saw some on somebodies house last week! It is tacky and common to put them up more than 12 days before and if that makes me a snob so be it.

Mine has been up for over a week. I like the look of it, looks all happy and cosy. I don't think their are any rules when it should go up, loads of people have lights shining in their windows already, or are we just backwards here:))
