It depends on if your baby is breastfed or formula feed. A breastfed baby can go a week without doing a poo because there is not much waist product in breast milk. Formula feed babies will usually poo a least once a day.

If little one is breast fed than I say 4 times a day, the richness of breast milk tends to run quickly their systems, their ever growing body needs the nutrients in the milk, thus making them go more offen. Formula babies poop about 2-3 times a day, just a little bit harder to break down the compounds of the mixture.

I called a health nurse and this is what they told me....four days for formula fed is not constipation and ten days for breast milk is not constipation. So if it goes over that then its constipation if its under that then its normal. My baby pooped every second day from the start and that is perfectly normal.

but if its too frequent and the stool is watery, the baby becomes cranky or his fontannel and eyeballs are sunken - those are bad signs, dehydration.
