Pro sports. Its just like when we were in school. Our leveys failed again, they have taken everything away from our children, teachers, field trips, afterschool events... everything until there is only sports left. A man would rather spend money watching pro sports than spend money to watch a shuttle go into space.

Americans have little choice in how much is spent on space exploration. A few entrepenaurs are trying to build experimental spacecraft at great expense but with the idea of profits in mind, otherwise the government decides what to spend and although the money comes from our taxes, there isn't much we can do about the expense (See national deficit) so Individually, I would say sports. That money comes from our pockets and is descretionary.

Very few people receive any tangible benefit from space exploration, few people would willingly hand over money in exchange for more space exploration occurring, and in any case there are many barriers to entry in that industry. So it remains more limited.
