My husband has kept it secret that he lost his job.His company,a nurse agency has decided to give him as many shifts as possible. He wants to work as many shifts as he can.Thing is I work fulltime and he does not want to look for something permanent because he says doing agency work is paying him more money. Now we have to look for extra childcare and it is very hard to get a childminder who will go till very late.
He is now getting down on me because he says that I am not bringing in enough money. He use to get about £2800 from this agency plus £1200 from his freelance work with cars.
Now it is £3600 from doing agency but I've had to call in sick because we have not been able to find appropriate childcare to accomadate his shifts

IF HE IS EARNING GOOD MONEY YOU STAY AT HOME AND LOOK AFTER THE CHILDREN..THEY ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU GOING OUT TO WORK.AND ITS A BLINK OF AN EYE UNTIL THEY ARE SCHOOL AGE AND YOU CAN GO BACK TO WORK

IMO, job security is much more important than a quick buck. The more you earn, the more you spend.
He may be making big bucks now, but what if the temp service never calls him again?
What about the odd hours, insurance, as you stated- childcare?
All of this should be taken into consideration, not just how much money is being made at the moment.
