I Would Reccomend The Audi Q7 if you don't plan to do any serious off roading, and for serious off roading the best alternative would be the Land Rover's LR3, for a good mix between Off Roading And On Road Style, & Safety I Would Suggest You Should Go For The Range Rover HSE, or The Range Rover Sport Super Charged.

What is the point of an SUV? Those models you mentioned are all top end models and you will never drive with them in the veld because you wouldn't want to get a scratch on them. If you realy want a 4x4 why don't you buy a second hand bakkie whith all types of dents and scrathces so you can go bundu bashing. Otherwise don't waste your money rather buy a sedan. A SUV is less economical, tyres cost a hell of a lot more, it's to big and other road users can't see past you and parking is a lot more difficult. Why do you want it? To show the other people in town that you own a farm or is it true what they say about Sandton and its notoriously bad roads.

The VW V10 is a really fantastic vehicle, I give mine hell all the time, and i don't drive it to the mall only, its off road capabilities are truly exceptional. Buy one, you will enjoy, i had the Land Rover, it gave me endless problems, and very expensive to repair.
