A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

Learning english is not going to happen overnight, but there are a lot of ways to speed it up. I just learned that in Finland, the people learn english rather quickly by muting their TV's and using only closed captioning. Almost all new tv have the ability to be closed captioned. I also tell parents to do this if their child is struggling with reading. Also, when learning a language, you need to immerse yourself in the language. Good luck.

don't be afraid to speak english... the more you speak the easier and faster you'll learn. also try interacting with english speakers either verbally or written (online chat!) regularly :)

try to learn a few words a day. by and by your vocabulary (word chest) will increase. understanding proper grammar and syntax will help you with your sentence building. study the pronunciation and correct mistakes early on. learning the proper way is the only way.

learnig a new language when your not a kid anymore is hard. i'm in the same dilemma. different language, though.

good luck!

Buy a book on Basic English or a children's book.

Good luck - You did not say how old you are. It's much easier to learn if you are young. I learned English when 11 years old.

try to find a tutor, lots of libraries and schools offer cheap (and sometimes free) tutors.
