I have had a Vox AC30 for 4 Years and its been a hard giging amp. Recently it has started making quiet (relative to the guitar sound) intermitent feedback noises. The noises stop if the amp is gently kicked, but then start back up again in a couple of minutes.
Please can you help me diagnose the problem and perhaps suggest a remedy.

Many many thanks.

I don't remember if this is solidstate or tube, but if could be a loose tube or one getting ready to blow, since the "shock" seems to put things back into place.

If this doesn't help then a diagnostic on a repairman's test bed is in order.

Failing that, if you still want to or must use the amp, then you can try a noise gate, but, if the problem is down stream then the gate will be of no use.

Turtle wax. Or ask a music store!
